New Flagship Laundry Appliances

The W2 and T2 Nova Edition, Miele’s latest washing machine and tumble dryer models, boast several cutting-edge features. These include shorter cycle times, enhanced loading flexibility, a sleek design, and convenient features such as automatic activation when approached and one-touch door opening. The standout innovation is the InfinityCare honeycomb drum, the world’s first ribless drum.Miele IFA 3 Traditionally, drum ribs have been considered essential for agitating laundry during cycles. However, this motion can also increase wear on fabrics.

Dr Markus Miele, Executive Director and Co-Proprietor, highlighted the breakthrough: “Our engineers have resolved this issue with a carefully calibrated rotation rhythm, which efficiently moves laundry using only balanced pendulum motions.” The T2 Nova Edition dryer features a new wool programme and can dry up to 4kg of laundry in just 49 minutes.

A New Chapter for a Miele Classic

The “Complete C3”, Miele’s flagship bagged cylinder vacuum cleaner, has been a popular choice for 12 years, winning numerous product tests and becoming the best-selling Miele appliance of all time, with over 10 million units sold. This iconic model is now being given a well-deserved successor. High-quality cylinder vacuum cleaners are known for being powerful, hygienic, quiet, efficient, and durable. Miele’s new flagship model, the Guard L1, sets new standards in usability, hygiene, and design.

“Our new flagship model, Guard L1, sets new standards in ease of use, hygiene and design,” said Dr Reinhard Zinkann, Executive Director and Co-Proprietor. This is made possible by combining highly efficient motors, floorheads and air guides with a new bag concept and a multi-stage filter system. The HyClean Pure vacuum bag, used in the appliance, achieves an impressive filtration rate of 99.99 per cent of all dust particles and comprises 80 per cent recycled material.

Miele’s Commitment to Circularity

Rebecca Steinhage, Executive Director of Human Resources & Corporate Affairs, outlined Miele’s commitment to sustainability and resource conservation. Among the pilot projects, Miele is collaborating with a partner in the Netherlands to sell refurbished washing machines. In another project spanning five countries, the company is testing consumer acceptance of reconditioned electronic modules as an alternative to new spare parts for repairs. Initial results are promising, with a high level of acceptance for circular domestic appliances.

Steinhage also unveiled a design concept for a fully modular, nearly 100 per cent recyclable vacuum cleaner, composed almost entirely of recycled materials. In a survey conducted by Innofact, more than 80 per cent of respondents in Germany expressed willingness to consider refurbished parts for their appliances, reinforcing the growing interest in circularity.
