Cambridge Audio announces charity partnership and launch of new headphones

Cambridge Audio has announced its charity product partnership with Tim Burgess of legendary Manchester band, The Charlatans, and its launch of its Melomania headphones series.

It has said a limited edition of 300 Melomania M100 How High Edition earphones will be sold, with 10 per cent of each sale donated to the Help Us Help Bands project.

“Without musicians being able to share their art with the world, there would be no Cambridge Audio. Our driving passion is music and expertly crafting products that connect people to it in the most compelling ways,” explains James Johnson-Flint, Owner of Cambridge Audio. “We’re ecstatic to be working with Tim to support the musical community.”

Its limited edition M100 How High Edition features a distinctive yellow-and-black colour scheme which echoes the iconic jacket worn by Tim Burgess in The Charlatans’ music video for their 1997 hit How High.

Elsewhere, Cambridge Audio’s new Melonmania M100 range includes aptX Lossless support and Active Noise Cancelling (ANC).

The manufacturer explained that its ANC uses a hybrid combination of Feed-Back and Feed-Forward technology, with external microphones for monitoring outside ambient noise, and microphones inside the ear canal. This effectively blocks out exterior noise that would otherwise upset the immersive listening experience.

Whilst its Snapdragon Sound with aptX Lossless wireless technology enables wireless playback in CD quality with no lossy compression.

It also has a 10 hour battery life, from a single charge with ANC activated, or 16 hours with ANC switched off. More than two full charges are available from the carrying case, for a total of 52 hours of battery life.

“By adopting cutting-edge tech like apX Lossless, Melomania M100 were crafted to be our best true wireless earphones so far, to take on all comers and show what real audio expertise can deliver,” adds Mr Johnson-Flint.
