Audio Technica unveils premium new noise-cancelling earbuds and turntable at CES

Audio-Technica has unveiled two “exciting” new products at this year’s CES, including its most advanced set of truly wireless earbuds, the noise-cancelling ATH-ANC300TW and the premium AT-LPW50PB turntable in a stylish piano black gloss finish.

The AT-LPW50PB premium turntable (pictured top) is both a showcase for the Japanese company’s analogue audio engineering heritage and a beautiful piece of design, boasting a stunning piano, interior-friendly black gloss veneer, Audio Technica said.

The fully-manual belt-driven turntable is engineered for optimal high-fidelity audio reproduction of vinyl. Built from 30mm thick anti-resonance MDF to isolate it from low-frequency acoustic feedback, the AT-LPW50PB also uses a sensor-monitored motor to ensure the accuracy of its platter rotation speed at either 33 1/3 or 45 RPM. The platter itself is cast from professional-grade anti-resonant aluminium.

The turntable comes with a built-in selectable phono preamp and detachable dual RCA output cable for direct connection to other hi-fi components. The included AC adapter handles AC/DC conversion outside of the turntable chassis to minimise interference in the signal chain.

The matte-finished carbon fibre tonearm offers adjustable tracking force and an AT-HS4 ½”-mount universal headshell that features a black AT-VM95E Dual Moving Magnet phono cartridge. This cartridge, a successor to the legendary AT95E, is a versatile and high-performance model but is instantly switchable with any VM95 series cartridge to upgrade the sound.

Supplied with the turntable are a male-to-male dual RCA cable, 45 RPM adapter, rubber mat and removable hinged dust cover, as well as height-adjustable high isolation feet.

The noise-cancelling ATH-ANC300TW “no-compromise” earbuds (pictured above) combine the convenience and comfort of a truly wireless design with high-quality audio engineering and noise-cancelling technology, Audio Technica said.

They feature the company’s innovative QUIETPOINT hybrid technology to eliminate ambient noise and using the Audio-Technica Connect mobile app and its three presets – Airplane, On-the-go and Office/Study, users can tailor the noise-cancelling effect for their current environment.

The app also allows users to check battery life, control playback, select preferred codecs and assists in the location of the earbuds if they become separated or lost. Elsewhere a quick tap of the housing activates a hear-through function, so the sounds and voices around you can be heard – ideal when listening for important announcements or holding conversations.

The headphones feature 5.8mm diamond-like carbon coated drivers for enhanced accuracy and faithful audio reproduction. To ensure the audio quality is not disrupted Audio-Technica has also placed the active noise-cancelling microphones on the sound conduit, allowing high frequency sonics to be transmitted without loss. This structure maintains noise-cancelling whilst also optimising audio performance.

These truly wireless earbuds are designed for comfort and convenience, with controls located on each earbud for easy access on-the-move, while it arrives with four silicone eartip sizes to ensure a secure in-ear fit and strong noise-isolation.

Battery life runs to 4.5 hours on a single charge with noise-cancelling activated, with an additional 13.5 hours available via the compact charging case. Its IPX2-certified water resistant rating allows use in most wet weather conditions.

The ATH-ANC300TW features the latest Bluetooth® 5 wireless technology, making it compatible with the high-resolution aptX™ audio codec, multi-pairing functionality and SCMS-T supported devices that protect content transmitted over Bluetooth.
