Haier Europe revealed as best supporter of independents

Haier Europe, the parent company of the Hoover Candy brands, has been recognised for its commitment to independents at the annual CIH (Combined Independent Holdings) lunch and awards ceremony.

The event, held at Claridge’s in London on 4 December 2019 was opened by CIH chairman,  Steve Scogings who detailed the buying group’s achievements during 2019 and rewarded the year’s best performing individuals and suppliers.

CIH members, which includes the Euronics buying group in the UK, voted for their winners and Haier Europe received the ‘Support for Independents’ award.

In his speech, Mr Scogings said: “The winner [Haier Europe] is a [manufacturer] that has embraced both a willingness to offer highly sought-after agency products that are extremely competitive in the market but also has provided some astonishing scoop purchases for the members to get their teeth in to.”

David Meyerowitz, CEO of Haier Europe (pictured above with Field Sales Director – Independents, Sharon Hamer), who collected the trophy, added: “Independent retailers are key to our business and we’re delighted that they have recognised our hard-working teams’ total commitment.

“A close relationship with independent retailers continues to be a priority for us, as we understand that high levels of support, along with an exclusive and comprehensive range of products, can make a huge difference to the ability to attract customers and drive sales.

“We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to our retailers for their continued support!”
