As one of the most energy-intensive industries, there is a growing responsibility on electrical manufacturers to supply products that use sustainable materials and that are as energy efficient as possible.
Sustainability is extremely high on the agenda of most companies now, and electrical retailers are reflecting this in the brands and products they push in their stores.
As a key event in the industry’s calendar, the ERT Awards is reflecting these changing values. With the help and support of our amazing sustainability partners, AMDEA, Electrolux and The Appliance Recycling Group, we are proud to announce that the ERT Awards 2024 – due to take place in London on 24 October – will once again be a Certified Carbon Neutral event!
By working closely with carbon reduction engineers and The Grand Connaught Rooms in London (the venue for the event), we will calculate all the carbon our event produces. The Business Carbon Assessments will be completed by an independent third party to the international standard and the GHG Protocol, which is internationally recognised. Once complete, we will offset all the carbon produced by the event by supporting a renewable energy/eco-friendly project.
Charlotte Steadman, Event Manager at ERT, commented: “Now more than ever, it is vital that our industry promotes not only leading technical innovation but also products that meet consumers’ expectations of a greener future. Brands and retailers are leading the way with this, but we also want to do our bit.
“In the past we’ve had an excellent response to the ERT Awards becoming carbon neutral, and we hope to build on this further over the coming months with more partners and more impact throughout the retail industry!”
Look out for more information about this, along with our Carbon Neutral Certification, at the event itself. It’s not long now! So don’t forget to book your tickets for this year’s prestigious ERT Awards ceremony, which will take place on Thursday 24 October at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London!
