Hughes Electrical has raised £35,000 for the Benjamin Foundation after 60 of its members of staff took part in a sponsored 24 hour walk, over a 57-mile course in Suffolk.
The Foundation supports young people throughout Norfolk and Suffolk since 1994 and will use the much-needed funds to provide for its Young Carers service.
Jack Phelps, Hughes Director of Retail, said: “This is the third year we have raised money for the Benjamin Foundation, having previously completed a sponsored bike ride and parachute jump.
“This year was not without its challenges as there was torrential rain for much of the time.
“What we achieved is a testament to our true team effort, putting others before ourselves, and truly caring about colleagues which just underlines what incredible people we have working at Hughes.
“But all the hardship was worth it, we managed to raise £17,000 from sponsorship with Hughes match funding up to £15,000. All is going to support the charity and the fantastic work it does with young people and their families.”
