CDA has been named the highest-rated brand for ethical practices across four major domestic appliance categories, according to the latest research from The Good Shopping Guide.

The appliance manufacturer has secured the top position in the organisation’s Ethical Ratings Tables for cookers, dishwashers, fridge freezers and washing machines.

In the latest Cookers Ethical Ratings Table, CDA achieved a score of 91, placing it first among 27 brands assessed. Its parent company, Amica, followed with a score of 85, while Logik achieved 81.Ethical SQ BLK GREENTICK TM

Of the 27 brands included in the research, only 12 met The Good Shopping Guide’s ethical benchmark.

Established in 2001, The Good Shopping Guide is an independent research organisation that assesses brands on their environmental responsibility, animal welfare, human rights and wider corporate conduct.

Its latest assessment also introduces two new criteria covering packaging and irresponsible marketing practices, including greenwashing.

CDA has also completed the organisation’s Ethical Accreditation process, allowing it to display The Good Shopping Guide’s ETHICAL mark in recognition of its business practices.

Mark Taylor, Head of Innovation, Quality and Technical Services at CDA, commented: “Achieving the highest ethical ratings across four major appliance categories is a fantastic endorsement of the standards we set ourselves as a business.

“We believe responsibility goes beyond the products we manufacture. It encompasses the decisions we make, the partners we work with and the support we provide to customers throughout the lifetime of their appliances.

“Independent recognition from The Good Shopping Guide is particularly valuable because it demonstrates that our commitment is being assessed against clear, established criteria.”

The manufacturer also highlighted its approach to aftersales support and product longevity, including UK-based customer service, its own team of engineers and a Lifetime Parts Warranty on eligible CDA appliances.

According to CDA, these services form part of its efforts to encourage appliance repairs and extend product lifespans.

Mr Taylor added: “We’re incredibly proud of this achievement and remain focused on ensuring that quality, responsibility and customer confidence sit at the heart of everything we do.”
