Our history
The roots of the ASWO business stretch back to 1968 and a small TV repair business in a rural German village. Astrid and Karl-Börris Aschitsch encountered issues sourcing spare parts for their customers’ products, so they started looking for solutions and around 1974 the business moved into wholesale and started the journey to become the ASWO that we know today.
Our services
For 50 years now ASWO services have been focused on its main objective which is to help a Professional Repairer extend the life of an appliance. Essential to that objective is the availability of spare parts, not just the commonly used parts but the long tail… 18 million parts in fact.
The trade portal or ASWO Shop as we call it is rich in technical data and alongside the EURAS technical forum provides information and advice to more than 80,000 repairers across Europe and the UK.
Alongside our trade repair customers ASWO provides logistics services for many Manufacturers & Brands, helping them to get spare parts to their own technicians and repair centres for warranty repairs.
Retail partners that we work with today are mostly those who do repairs as well as sales or those with spare parts websites. Through the ASWO shop we show them real time stock availability and offer a next day delivery to them or to their consumer customer via a direct delivery solution.
Some of the online retailers we work with have an IT interface with us and populate their web shop offer using ASWO data. For retailers who either don’t have a spare parts website or historically haven’t sold spare parts we introduced the consumer website www.RepairPartsTeam.co.uk to give them the opportunity to earn money from parts sales without the challenge of doing it all themselves.
Innovation
Our newest innovation and solution is the “ProtechNeed” platform which is currently rolling out in France. ProtechNeed is a service platform that allows Manufacturers to offer repair jobs directly to ASWO’s professional trade customers when their own repair network is over capacity, this is live and being used by some big brands and will roll out in other markets in the coming months.
