IFA 2020: JBL unveils raft of new products

At this year’s IFA, via its virtual conference, JBL announced the launch of eight new products, including the JBL Tune 225TWS headphones and the Xtreme 3 wireless speaker.

Firstly, JBL introduced new portable speakers, with upgraded, bold logo designs and new colours to match the powerful audio.

The new generation of the JBL Xtreme Bluetooth speaker (pictured above) delivers an even bigger immersive stereo sound. With four improved drivers and two pumping JBL Bass Radiators, the Xtreme 3 comes with an eye-catching logo design and an upgrade of the handy carrying strap. It is also waterproof and dustproof, and offers 15 hours of battery life with a built-in powerbank that charges your devices.

With the PartyBoost feature, pair two JBL PartyBoost-compatible speakers together for stereo sound.

The pocket-size JBL Go 3 offers a brand-new edgy look and boasts striking colour combos and an integrated loop to make it ultra-portable. This mini speaker plays on for five hours on one charge. Wirelessly stream from a smartphone, tablet, or any other Bluetooth-enabled device – the JBL Go 3 is also waterproof and dustproof.

Elsewhere, JBL has expanded its true wireless headphone line-up.

Firstly, the JBL LIVE FREE NC+ feature Active Noise Cancelling, while JBL’s Smart Ambient technology keeps you aware of your surroundings when needed. The new earbuds feature IPX7 waterproofing for greater durability, strong battery life and fast pairing.

There is also the JBL TUNE 225TWS headphones, an upgrade of the TUNE 220TWS.

The JBL LIVE FREE NC+ earbuds offer Active Noise Cancelling and up to 21 hours of combined playtime, there is also no need for cables even when charging with the Qi-compatible wireless charging case. Select the latest playlist with your choice of Google or Amazon Alexa voice assistants via the dedicated touch control.

JBL LIVE FREE NC+ will be available from October in black, white, blue and rose.

In addition, the successor to the JBL TUNE 220TWS, the TUNE 225TWS keeps the best bits of the popular earbuds and adds new features, boosted battery life and improved sound.

JBL Pure Bass Sound from a large 12mm driver is housed in the stylish earbud design, now available in six stylish colours.

There are no wires involved and there’s the compact charging case providing up to 25 hours of battery life. JBL TUNE 225TWS are available this month in black, white, pink, blue, grey, rose gold.

Mr Rogers added: “We are introducing a range of new true wireless headphones that combine the powerful sound and bold design that JBL is known for with cutting-edge features.

“Active Noise Cancelling and IPX7 sweat and waterproofing significantly improve the versatility and performance of the earbuds, and we’re delighted to bring these features to our TWS earbuds. We are also introducing our new Dual Connect + Sync technology. They pair with your device when the case is opened, and each earbud connects immediately and independently, allowing you to take calls with either side and assign unique functions to left and right.”
