Denon’s new Dolby Atmos sound bar and subwoofer

Denon has introduced the DHT-S517 sound bar and wireless subwoofer system, precision-engineered and finely tuned by the Denon Sound Masters to deliver enhanced bass, crystal clear dialogue and enveloping sound from a sleek, 3.1.2 configuration with cinematic Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound.

The sound bar utilises a powerful seven-driver array, comprised of left/right channel tweeters and midrange drivers, a dedicated centre-channel, plus two up-firing speakers. Working together with the wireless subwoofer, this configuration delivers clarity, dynamics and cinematic dimensionality. Entertainment enthusiasts will appreciate a thrilling, lifelike Dolby Atmos listening experience that includes an expansive soundstage, authoritative bass and startlingly clear dialogue perfect for the latest music, movies and games.

Denon President, Trip Randall, said TV speakers these days have “notably diminished”, resulting in a sacrificed sound experience…

“With our newest Denon sound bar, you’ll immediately boost your home theatre experience to upgraded 3D sound and will find your viewing experience makes exponential leaps forward for the better.”

Coming at the end of January, the DHT-S517 works seamlessly with any TV set-up. With the included HDMI cable, audio from any smart TV or other compatible source is sent to the sound bar via the HDMI Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) feature. Users will enjoy effortless control of the sound bar volume via their TV remote. Non-HDMI ARC TVs can also be connected through the digital optical input. There is also an additional 4K UHD HDMI input to connect HDMI sources to the soundbar directly.

Wireless music streaming

The sound bar system provides wireless access to your favourite content via Bluetooth connectivity to any smart device. Access millions of tracks, podcasts and other programs with the richness and clarity only available from Denon.

Not only this, but there are multiple sound modes tailored for any occasion: Movie Mode, Music Mode, Pure Mode and Night Mode. In Pure Mode all surround processing and other adjusted characteristics is eliminated, delivering the purest music listening experience, the Denon team said.
