AEG has announced the launch of its new Care product range, including washing machines, washer dryers and tumble dryers with a sleek new design and new care and connectivity features.
Replacing the existing range of AEG appliances which were launched in 2016, the collection has a key focus on energy efficiency; the brand’s ‘Challenge the Expected’ campaign has seamless and intuitive interaction with the products, including features that help consumers save energy around the home.
The range also highlights next steps in technology when it comes to design and care for garments, offering the customer personalised precision for the clothes care process.
Iain Wareham, Head of Care Product line at AEG, commented: “We recently carried out a study that investigated the nation’s laundry habits, which highlighted that over three-quarters admit that saving money on energy costs is going to be important to them over the next 12 months.
“And with 60 per cent highlighting that energy efficiency is the factor they consider most when buying a new appliance, it’s more important than ever that we provide consumers with a range that allows them to live more responsibly.”
Mr Wareham said these new solutions “redefine” what consumers would normally expect from clothing care by helping to keep clothes looking like new for longer.
The new range of AEG washing machines includes features such as the new PowerClean programme, which ensures complete stain removal (even at low temperatures) and ProSense which automatically adjusts the time, water and energy of each load.
Within the 7000 and 8000 series range is Universal Dose, a unique drawer designed for PODS capsules as well as detergent, pre-wash and softener. Tailored waterjets soften, pierce and fully dissolve PODS in the drawer, activating them 60 per cent faster, compared to when placed in the drum.
Other features include SoftWater, as found in the 9000 Series AbsoluteCare 8kg Washing Machine, and ProSteam – a short cycle that refreshes clothes with steam, using 96 per cent less water than a normal wash.
The tumble dryers in the new range have SensiDry heat pump technology that dries clothes evenly at low temperatures, while PreciseDry adjusts the cycle based on the load size.
AEG has launched the 9000 Series AbsoluteCare Plus 9kg Heat Pump Tumble Dryer, which detects moisture levels in the load to ensure fabrics are evenly dried throughout, thanks to the 3DScan Technology.
To complete the new range of products, new washer dryers from AEG will bring together the best technologies from their washing machine and tumble dryer ranges – these are due to be launched later this year.
Mr Wareham continued: “We know people want answers on how best to save energy in the home and our partnership with Youreko highlights to consumers how much energy they can save by purchasing a more energy efficient appliance. It’s an exciting time for us and we can’t wait for people to get their hands on one of these new models!”
Every appliance on the AEG website is independently monitored by Youreko’s verification tool, which ensures customers understand the financial benefit of purchasing an energy efficient appliance. For example, it reveals a lifetime saving of £6,752.00 for the 9000 Series Heat Pump Tumble Dryer alone.
