AMDEA, the Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances, is hosting its annual conference on 1 May 2025 in partnership with City, St George’s University of London.

The conference will be on the theme of ‘The Roadmap to a Sustainable Appliance Future’.

Renowned tech journalist, Maggie Philbin OBE, will lead two panel debates with speakers from appliance manufacturers, trade associations, testing laboratories, repair companies, academia, consumer organisations and accessibility experts.

Delving into the appliance industry’s role in supporting a circular economy, and the role of new technologies in enabling greater sustainability, panel members will discuss the challenges and opportunities for the appliance industry as it continues to support wider sustainability goals. Members of the audience will also be encouraged to share their insights during the sessions.

The conference will be rounded off with a talk from guest speaker, Jonathon Porritt CBE, former Chair of the Ecology Party, who has been at the forefront of championing the sustainability agenda for thirty years.

There will also be a free networking reception for delegates and speakers from 5.30pm.

Registration for the conference will be from 12.30pm – allowing delegates time to visit City St George’s University of London’s state-of-the-art AV/VR Suite and to view the Product and Partner Showcase, as well as network with fellow delegates from government, appliance manufacturers, fire services, retailers, consumer organisations, academia and allied trade associations over lunch.

You can register for the event now via the AMDEA website.
