Sonoro enters the streaming market

German audio brand Sonoro has entered the streaming market with the launch of three new products.

Unveiled at IFA in Berlin, the range includes the SonoroSTREAM internet radio with Bluetooth and Spotify Connect (£219), which can be connected to up to five speakers; the bedside SonoroRELAX digital alarm internet clock radio (£319), and the flagship Meisterstuck (Masterpiece) 2.1 stereo music system with an integrated subwoofer, five independent power amplifiers, internet radio, multi-room, wi-fi, CD player, DAB and Bluetooth (£899).

The products will be available before Christmas.

Speaking to ERT at IFA, Leon Tomasevic, Sonoro’s international sales director, said: “We’ve been on the cusp of the internet radio phenomenon, but we’re not a technology hunter – we’re about the home and we’re here to help people with their problems and wellness – but the world drags you there, whether you like it or not. We have decided to tackle streaming in our own way.”

Sonoro relaunched in the UK earlier this year.

Commenting on its progress with retailers, Mr Tomasevic said: “We have a lot of agreements to range products – Superfi have been phenomenal. They get it, they’ve put the products in their stores and they have well-trained staff. We’ve also got a few great independents, like Woolacotts. I’d like to have more independents working with us.”
