Pacifica, the leading independent provider of Domestic Appliance Repairs and Warranties in the Major Domestic Appliance (MDA) market, has appointed Gareth Ryan as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to support the company’s ambitious plans for growth and further strengthen its position as the national appliance experts.
He brings over two decades of commercial, digital, and marketing leadership experience across global financial services and home services sectors.
In his new role, he will lead Pacifica’s marketing and growth strategy, driving business expansion across appliance repairs, warranties, and strategic partnerships.
Pacifica’s model is built on long-term partnerships with blue-chip clients including Electrolux, Sony, Hisense, LG, Vestel, Howdens (Lamona), Argos, Glen Dimplex, and Shop Direct. The business also acquired Retracare, the extended warranty division of RETRA, the UK’s trade association for independent electrical retailers, further cementing its role in the sector.
Mr Ryan’s experience includes 12 years at MBNA/Bank of America, where he held senior roles in digital, acquisition and customer development. He later joined HomeServe, first as Digital Director, and subsequently in roles covering international expansion and repair & replacement led marketing.
As CMO at Checkatrade.com, he oversaw the rapid expansion of the platform, delivering 67% year-on-year growth in tradesperson membership and 13% growth in consumer use.
Kevin Brown, CEO, Pacifica, said: “Gareth is a fantastic addition to our senior team. He brings a deep understanding of digital marketing, customer growth, and strategic partnership development, all of which align perfectly with our ambitions. His track record speaks for itself, and we’re excited about what he’ll bring to Pacifica as we develop our end-to-end approach around appliance repairs and warranties.”
Mr Ryan will play a pivotal role in supporting Pacifica’s transition from a repair-led business to a comprehensive appliance services brand, offering consumers product guarantees, repairs, spares, and warranties under one trusted roof, powering our partners to heightened levels of customer service and growth.
The new Chief Marketing Officer, Pacifica, said: “Pacifica is in a strong position to build on its market-leading repair service and expand its offering across the appliance lifecycle. Householders are becoming increasingly conscious of both the environmental impact and rising cost of replacing appliances.
“Knowing they can repair their products at a fixed cost or protect them with a warranty gives customers reassurance, control, and peace of mind. This is a business with a clear vision, excellent partnerships, and the UK’s largest appliance repair network, so I’m thrilled to be part of its next stage of growth.”
