Powered by 100% Renewable Energy
At the heart of Miele’s approach is its commitment to green electricity. Since 2021, Miele production sites around the world have been powered by 100% renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions and supporting global efforts to combat climate change. All unavoidable Scope 1 & 2 emissions are offset via high-quality climate protection projects, making Miele CO2 neutral across all its locations. An important milestone on this path is the reduction of emissions in the use phase of Miele’s products (Scope 3.11) – the major contributors to Miele’s overall carbon footprint – by 15 percent from 2019 until 2030.
Supporting Global Renewable Energy Projects
Miele also actively contributes to renewable energy projects on a larger scale. As part of Denmark’s “Green City” initiative, Miele supplied 15,000 energy-efficient appliances to a newly developed urban area powered entirely by renewable energy. A fully sustainable home in Australia, the “Greenhouse-Future Food System” also included energy saving Miele appliances. Such projects demonstrate Miele’s commitment to integrating sustainable technologies into everyday living and supporting communities in their transition to renewable energy.

Miele’s Energy Efficient Appliances
The focus on conserving energy is also reflected in Miele’s range of energy-efficient appliances. Heat pump tumble dryers, for example, consume up to 50% less energy than conventional models, while Miele dishwashers offer innovative programmes that use as little as six litres of water per cycle, without compromising on performance. With TwinDos – Miele’s dosing system – dosing is even easier and it’s possible to save up to 30% of detergent (compared to manual dosing) in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Miele’s ovens, induction hobs, and refrigerators combine cutting-edge design with intelligent energy management, delivering exceptional performance while minimising power usage.
Focus on Durability and Repairability
Miele’s sustainability commitment also encompasses durability and repairability, reducing waste and extending the lifecycle of its products. Most of its appliances are tested to the equivalent of 20 years of use*, ensuring long-lasting reliability. What’s more, spare parts are guaranteed for at least 15 years, giving customers the option to repair their appliances rather than replace them, further reducing their environmental footprint.
