Chinese ecommerce giant JD.com is set to launch its online retail platform, Joybuy, across Europe in March, supported by a network of around 60 warehouses and depots.

The rollout will be accompanied by the introduction of a dedicated express delivery service, JoyExpress, offering same-day and next-day delivery in major cities across the UK, Germany, France, and the Netherlands. JoyExpress will operate from JD.com’s existing European warehouses and will expand as Joybuy grows into new cities.

Deliveries will be made by JoyExpress staff in branded uniforms using a fleet that includes trucks, vans, and electric bicycles. In addition to standard parcel delivery, JoyExpress will provide an integrated delivery and installation service for large home appliances in major urban centres.

While the initial focus of JoyExpress will be on supporting Joybuy, the service is expected to extend delivery capabilities to JD.com’s business partners in the future.

In the UK, JD.com operates a network of micro-hubs in London and larger fulfilment centres in Coventry, Milton Keynes, Dunstable, and Magna Park Lutterworth. Its property arm, Jingdong Property, owns sites in Derbyshire, Bedford, Magna Park Milton Keynes, Rugby, Coventry, Wigan, and Leicestershire.

According to JD.com, JoyExpress is underpinned by an integrated logistics model encompassing warehousing, transportation, large-item logistics, cold chain management, and end-to-end supply chain technology solutions. The company highlights the use of intelligent warehousing, automation technologies, and data-driven operations.

Axel Eggenwirth, Senior Director of Last Mile Europe at Jingdong Logistics, said: “JoyExpress offers Europe a new delivery and logistics choice. We look forward to bringing our industry-leading technology and capabilities to consumers and markets across France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK, while enhancing our supply chain operations in sectors such as electronics, home appliances, FMCG, and groceries.”

Jingdong Logistics is building a global smart supply chain network featuring local warehousing and integrated international transport. As of September 2025, it operated over 1,600 self-owned warehouses and 2,000 third-party cloud warehouses across 24 markets, totalling more than 34 million sq m. Globally, its network includes over 130 bonded, international direct distribution, and overseas warehouses.
