With the ERT Awards 2026 taking place on 15 October at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London, entries are now open – and competition is expected to be as strong as ever across both retailer and supplier categories.
The awards remain one of the most respected events in the electrical retail calendar, recognising excellence across independent retail, national chains, e-commerce, service, and innovation, alongside outstanding supplier and manufacturer performance.
Understanding how entries are assessed is key. Supplier and manufacturer categories are voted for by the industry, meaning reputation, relationships and consistent performance are crucial. In contrast, retailer categories are judged by an expert panel, who assess submissions in detail against specific criteria—making a strong written entry essential.
Tell a clear, compelling story
The most successful entries go beyond listing achievements. Judges want a clear narrative, what you set out to do, the challenges you faced, and how you delivered results.
Be relevant and focused
Carefully review the category criteria and tailor your entry accordingly. The strongest submissions are clear, structured and directly aligned with what judges are looking for.
Highlight what sets you apart
Whether it’s a unique retail approach, exceptional customer service or a standout initiative, make sure you clearly explain what differentiates your business.
Keep it concise and engaging
Judges review a high volume of entries, so clarity is key. Use straightforward language and make your key points easy to identify.
Put people at the centre
Behind every great retail business is a strong team. Show how your people contribute to your success.
A strong entry not only increases your chances of success but ensures your business is recognised on one of the industry’s biggest stages.
