Hisense UK brings in new marketing manager

Hisense UK has appointed Alistair Orr as its new marketing manager.

One of his immediate roles will be to maximise the company’s partnership with football club Aston Villa, which sees the brand become its official technology partner.

He will also be involved with Hisense’s sponsorship of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Mr Orr joins the brand’s Leeds headquarters from Audio-Technica, where he worked as EMEA marketing manager for its consumer products and was responsible for establishing awareness for the Japanese brand in the UK.

He has also previously worked for LG as part of its consumer marketing team during the early stages of UHD and OLED technology being introduced to the UK market.

“For me, this market is all about achieving the right mix between tech and affordability,” said Mr Orr. “Hisense offers consumers a great deal of quality for their money, meaning a greater proportion of consumers can purchase TVs with the latest innovations.

“This was one of the main reasons I felt such a strong affinity with the brand and why I ultimately decided to join the team. Our job now is to raise awareness of the brand and its offering with the ultimate goal of increasing consumer confidence within the UK market.”

Howard Grindrod, deputy managing director, added: “It’s fantastic to have Alistair on board, his experience of building, cultivating and managing technology brands is perfect for us here at Hisense UK. I’m looking forward to seeing the creative and interesting ways he uses our Aston Villa partnership and sponsorship of the 2018 World Cup to strengthen the Hisense brand here in the UK.”
