Electrolux Group has reported stronger underlying second-quarter results, with sales growth in Europe driven by continued demand for its Electrolux and AEG built-in kitchen appliance ranges.
The manufacturer reported net sales of SEK31.6bn (£2.45bn), up slightly from SEK31.3bn (£2.43bn) a year earlier, while underlying operating profit increased to SEK1.2bn (£93m) from SEK797m (£62m). The improvement was supported by higher sales volumes across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, alongside Latin America, although North America remained a challenging market.
Yannick Fierling, president and chief executive of Electrolux Group, said “In Europe, the Electrolux and AEG brands continued to strengthen their market and price position, driven by core categories such as built-in kitchen, in a continued subdued market.”
During the quarter, Electrolux also announced a strategic partnership with Midea Group in North America as part of a wider transformation programme designed to improve long-term competitiveness. The group also completed a SEK9.1bn (£706m) rights issue to strengthen its balance sheet.
The manufacturer said cost-efficiency initiatives contributed SEK1.4bn (£109m) to earnings during the quarter, although profitability continued to be affected by higher tariffs in North America, alongside increased logistics and raw material costs linked to ongoing geopolitical tensions.
Looking ahead, Electrolux said its outlook for Europe remains unchanged, with the company continuing to expect a broadly neutral market for the remainder of 2026. However, it warned that geopolitical uncertainty, inflationary pressures and weaker consumer confidence could continue to weigh on demand.
Mr Fierling added that the group’s immediate priorities are to accelerate efficiency improvements, optimise its manufacturing footprint and complete the transformation of its North American business while continuing to invest in its core brands.
