Cambridge Audio, the British audio company known for its music-first philosophy and award-winning products, announces CXN100 SE, an evolution of the award-winning CXN100 network player, designed for listeners who want to bring high-quality streaming into a modern home entertainment setup.

It has also announced the launch of CX Black: a limited edition of its award-winning CXA81 Mk II integrated stereo amplifier and CXC CD transport, joined by the all-new CXN100 SE music streamer – all in a refined matt-black finish.

CXN100

CXN100 SE delivers the same sound, streaming performance and design as CXN100, now with the addition of HDMI eARC, making it easy to connect your TV directly to your hi-fi system.

An exceptional streaming experience, more versatile than ever.

CXN100 SE will be available in Cambridge’s signature Lunar Grey as well as, at launch, a Limited Edition Black finish as part of the CX Black collection, alongside the matching CXA81 Mk II stereo amplifier and CXC CD transport in the same matt finish.

A familiar sound, expanded

CXN100 SE is built around the 4th generation of StreamMagic, Cambridge Audio’s industry-leading streaming platform for seamless, stable listening across an enormous number of services and formats.

The ESS ES9028Q2M SABRE32 Reference DAC was chosen for its low distortion, wide dynamic range and natural presentation. It preserves the emotional character of music while revealing more texture and space in every recording.

Like all Cambridge products, CXN100 SE was designed, engineered and tuned by ear at Cambridge’s London office and live music venue, Melomania. Every decision was made with one aim: to bring listeners closer to the music.

Now with HDMI eARC

The defining addition to CXN100 SE is HDMI eARC. By connecting CXN100 SE directly to your TV, you can route all audio through your hi-fi system, from your favourite streaming series to live sports, to films, and concert performances. It’s a simple way to bring richer, more engaging sound into your everyday viewing, without changing how you listen to music.

Whether you’re discovering a new artist, watching a live show or settling in for a film, CXN100 SE keeps everything flowing through one system, one interface, one sound.

Streaming, your way

StreamMagic enables direct streaming from Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Amazon Music, Deezer, Qobuz Connect, Roon Ready, UPnP and Internet Radio with support up to 32-bit/192kHz hi-res audio over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. As Cambridge owns and develops the StreamMagic platform itself, new features and services are regularly added to improve and increase its functionality.

Other wireless connectivity includes Google Cast, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth, while physical digital inputs are covered by USB, coaxial and TOSLINK. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs make it easy to integrate CXN100 SE into a wide range of hi-fi systems.

CXN100 SE is also Roon Ready, bringing your entire music library together in one beautifully organised listening experience, the company says.

Crafted by design

CXN100 SE will be available in both Limited Edition Black and Lunar Grey, Cambridge’s signature finish.

According to Cambridge Audio, both share the same minimalist design language and precision build quality, allowing CXN100 SE to integrate seamlessly into any system or listening environment.

Fully under control

Control CXN100 SE with the StreamMagic app, designed for fast, intuitive access to your music from anywhere in the room. You can also use the CX Series system remote for seamless integration with other CX components.

Within the StreamMagic control app, audio can be personalised to the listener’s taste. A seven-band EQ can be used to tweak the sonics manually to an astoundingly precise degree, while a wealth of presets is offered tailored to multiple music genres and TV-watching scenarios. Room-optimisation features in the app enable you to adapt the sound manually to your unique living space.

A large 4.76-inch high-resolution colour display brings album artwork, playback information and a choice of VU meters into clear view, keeping the experience focused, simple and immersive.

Wrapped in our signature CX Series design and built with the precision and care Cambridge is known for, CXN100 SE is made to fit effortlessly into both your system and your space.

CX Black

Each CX Black component delivers the same carefully tuned sound and performance as its standard Lunar Grey counterpart, now with a beautifully understated aesthetic that will fit seamlessly into modern listening spaces.

Power and precision

At the heart of the range is the CXA81 Mk II, delivering 80 Watts per channel of powerful, detailed sound. Designed to reveal the full emotional range of your music, it offers a natural, expansive presentation that allows every note to breathe, whether you’re listening digitally or spinning records through your analogue setup.

CXA81 Mk II combines power and precision with the musical balance the CX Series is known for, making it a versatile centrepiece for a wide range of hi-fi systems.

Dedicated to the disc

For listeners with a CD collection they still love, CXC remained a dedicated solution for getting the very best from physical media.

By stripping away everything that doesn’t serve the music, Cambridge’s engineers created a CD transport focused purely on accurate digital extraction and timing. The result is a cleaner, more faithful signal that lets you hear more of what’s on the disc, and less of everything else.

Integrated streaming

Completing the system is the new CXN100 SE, which will launch in the matching Limited Edition Black finish as well as standard Lunar Grey. An evolution of the award-winning CXN100, it is built on Cambridge’s proprietary StreamMagic Gen 4 platform and now features HDMI eARC. CXN100 SE brings high-quality streaming and enhanced TV audio into the CX ecosystem, all through a meticulously tuned signal path.

Crafted by design

CX Black is designed for listeners refreshing their hi-fi system or adding a Cambridge component for the first time. The matt-black finish offers a refined alternative to our signature Lunar Grey, while retaining the minimalist design language and precision build quality across the range.

As with all CX components, everything is built to last, visually elegant, thoughtfully engineered and most importantly, focused on the music.

Together, CXA81 Mk II, CXC and CXN100 SE form a cohesive CX system, designed to handle everything from streaming and television audio to treasured CD collections, without compromising on sound.
