A team of Beko colleagues completed the 55-mile London to Brighton Bike Ride on Sunday, 13 September, raising vital funds for long-standing charity partner, Barnardo’s.

Setting off from Clapham Common, Team Beko cycled to Brighton Seafront, taking on the challenge together in support of Barnardo’s work with children, young people and families across the UK.

The challenge brought together colleagues from across the business — including Board members, senior management, service engineers and warehouse colleagues — united by a shared commitment to supporting Barnardo’s. Taking on the 55-mile ride side by side, the team reflected the collective spirit that has underpinned Beko’s long-standing relationship with the charity.

The partnership is now in its 13th year, built on a shared commitment to improving the lives of children, young people and families across the UK. Over that time, Beko’s support has extended well beyond fundraising, with colleagues, product donations and company-led initiatives all helping to make a meaningful and practical difference.

The ride marked a particularly special moment for the partnership, as Beko’s first team challenge for Barnardo’s in eight years, bringing colleagues together once again in support of a cause that remains close to the company’s heart.

Team Beko exceeded its £1,500 fundraising target ahead of the ride, raising more than £2,500 thanks to the incredible generosity of colleagues, friends, family and supporters. And to make every donation go even further, Beko will match the final amount raised, bringing the total contribution to Barnardo’s to over £5,000.

The challenge followed another major milestone in the partnership, after Beko formally presented Barnardo’s with a £500,000 cheque in November 2025, recognising the value of appliance donations and company-led fundraising delivered over the course of the relationship.

Teresa Arbuckle, Managing Director, Beko UK & Ireland, commented: “We’re incredibly proud of our colleagues for completing this challenge for Barnardo’s. They put in a huge amount of time, effort and preparation, and it was fantastic to see that hard work pay off as they made their way from London to Brighton.

“Last year, we were proud to mark the £500,000 donation milestone with Barnardo’s, and this ride was another great example of how our colleagues continue to bring the partnership to life. As we celebrate 13 years of supporting the charity, it was wonderful to see Team Beko come together once again for such an important cause.”

Over the years, Beko has supported Barnardo’s through product donations, company-led fundraising and employee challenges. More than 1,300 brand-new appliances, including fridges, cookers and washing machines, have been provided to families supported by the charity, with products delivered and installed free of charge.

The London to Brighton Bike Ride is the latest example of Beko colleagues getting behind the partnership and helping to make a difference.
