Global technology care provider Asurion has announced a definitive agreement to acquire UK and Europe-based Domestic & General, one of the largest appliance care companies in the region. The acquisition is expected to close in mid-2026, subject to regulatory approval.
The deal will combine Asurion’s global reach and digital service capabilities with Domestic & General’s 110-year legacy of appliance care, creating a single, trusted provider for millions of customers worldwide. The merged company aims to accelerate Asurion’s vision of becoming the “CTO of the home” by delivering seamless, intelligent care for every connected device and appliance.
Domestic & General’s extensive repair network, comprising more than 25,000 independent engineers, serves 6.8 million subscription customers and partners with leading brands including Whirlpool, Sky, Hoover-Candy, and John Lewis. The company has delivered over two decades of uninterrupted organic revenue growth and will continue to operate under its brand as a business unit of Asurion.
Guru Gowrappan, CEO of Asurion, said: “Domestic & General’s deep customer relationships and expertise in appliance protection make them a natural, highly complementary partner as we expand our support of every connected device and appliance in the home. We look forward to welcoming the Domestic & General team as we work together to elevate the standard for industry-leading customer experience globally.”
Matthew Crummack, CEO of Domestic & General, added: “Joining Asurion is a natural fit given our complementary business models, bringing fresh and exciting growth opportunities for the people and the business, while creating stronger outcomes for our customers.”
The combined company will leverage Asurion’s global infrastructure, predictive diagnostics, intelligent logistics and AI-powered service to provide faster, more seamless experiences for customers. It will also extend Asurion’s reach in the $154 billion connected home market and create new channel partnerships across Europe and beyond.
Pev Hooper, Managing Partner at CVC, which advised on the sale along with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority’s Luxinva S.A., said:
“Domestic & General has transformed from a UK-focused warranty provider into a global, subscription-based and digitally-enabled appliance care leader. We are proud of its growth and wish Asurion and the team every success in building on this strong platform.”
