The Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances (AMDEA) is delighted to announce that The Appliance Recycling Group has joined it’s Associate Member Group.
The AMG was launched earlier this year to enable AMDEA to bring companies involved in the provision of training, insurance and warranty schemes, servicing, repair, recovery, refurbishment, reuse, recycling, and end of life disposal under the membership umbrella.
AMDEA CEO Stefan Hay says: ‘We are thrilled that the Appliance Recycling Group will bring their extensive expertise in ensuring that appliances are re-used and refurbished to a high standard to our Associate Membership Group. They, and organisations like them are vital to the wider appliance sector’s contribution to supporting the circular economy.
‘AMDEA’s Associate Member Group is key to enabling cross-industry co-operation to take the circular economy agenda forward and we very much look forward to the participation of the Appliance Recycling Group in our discussions and work.’
James Farmer, Director of the Appliance Recycling Group adds: ‘Collaborating with AMDEA represents one of the most important steps we can take as a remanufacturer of domestic appliances. Strengthening our connection with members and representing their brands within the second-hand market at scale, is a responsibility we take seriously. Delivering reuse at scale requires more than volume. It demands consistency, defined standards, and controlled conditions. Done properly, it builds trust, not just in the products themselves, but in the wider circular economy.
‘Our ambition is to play a meaningful role in that shift. By working closely with AMDEA stakeholders and being part of the associate member group, with such esteemed colleagues, we aim to help shape a model for reuse that is credible, scalable, and commercially viable.’
