Naim Audio has announced the launch of Mu-so Utopia – its “most sophisticated Mu-so speaker yet” and the first Naim product ever to carry the Utopia name.

According to Naim Audio, Utopia has long been the signature of Focal’s flagship loudspeakers, and Mu-so Utopia brings that philosophy to Naim‘s all-in-one platform for the first time. Combining Naim‘s amplification, streaming and DSP expertise with French-made Focal drivers, it delivers serious hi-fi performance and Dolby Atmos® immersion from a single box.

At its heart are 15 speaker drivers powered by 720W of hybrid Class D and Class A/B amplification, the most powerful ever fitted to a Mu-so, Naim says. These include Focal’s ‘W’ M-profile midrange drivers and new-generation PRISM tweeters, both made in France, for natural, detailed vocals and instruments, with bass reaching down to 25Hz.

 

Mu-so Utopia is said to be just as at home with films, TV and gaming. It supports Dolby Atmos® up to 7.1.2 via HDMI eARC, alongside Focal & Naim‘s own Sphere audio modes, which reflect sound off the walls and ceiling to fill rooms of up to 50m² from a single cabinet.

 

Built on the Naim Pulse Platform, it streams in hi-res up to 32-bit/384kHz over Wi-Fi 6 or Ethernet, with AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify, TIDAL and Qobuz Connect and Presto Music integration all built in. ADAPT room tuning in the Focal & Naim app tailors the sound to your space, and it slots straight into a multiroom setup across the wider Focal & Naim ecosystem.

 

Finished in deep black brushed aluminium with Naim‘s signature heatsink and a red Utopia trim, it sits alongside Mu-so Hekla as the more music-focused, audiophile model in the range.

Mu-so Utopia will be available from 15 October.
