Xiaomi has confirmed it will make its debut at IFA 2026, using the Berlin technology show as the stage to showcase its expanding AI-powered smart ecosystem to European retailers, partners and consumers.

Announced during the official IFA Kick-Off event in Berlin, the company also revealed plans to invest €7.4 billion in artificial intelligence research and development between 2026 and 2028, with Europe playing a central role in its innovation strategy.

The investment forms part of Xiaomi’s wider commitment to spend more than €24 billion on research and development between 2026 and 2030 across AI, electric vehicles, robotics, operating systems and other core technologies.

Speaking at the event, Zeng Hua, PR Director for Western Europe at Xiaomi Group, said: “Europe is not a market we simply visit. It is a region where we listen, learn and build.

“Coming to IFA for the first time is an important step in that journey. In September, we look forward to showing how Xiaomi’s Human × Car × Home smart ecosystem can bring AI beyond individual devices and into everyday life. We are saving the full story for Berlin, but today is where that conversation begins.”

While Xiaomi has remained tight-lipped about specific product announcements, the company confirmed its IFA stand will feature several European firsts across its ecosystem. The exhibition will focus on how AI connects smartphones, smart home devices and personal mobility products into a single integrated experience.

The company said it continues to expand its European research and development operations while strengthening relationships with regional partners and investing in local talent as part of its long-term growth plans.

According to Xiaomi, its AI ecosystem now connects more than 1.1 billion devices worldwide across more than 200 product categories, spanning home appliances, entertainment, health, cleaning and personal mobility.

For electrical retailers, Xiaomi’s first appearance at IFA is expected to provide a broader view of the company’s ambitions beyond smartphones, with greater emphasis on connected home technology, AI integration and cross-category ecosystems.

The move also reflects Xiaomi’s growing importance in the European consumer technology market, where it has steadily expanded its presence across smartphones, televisions, wearables, smart home devices and major domestic appliances in recent years.

Further details of Xiaomi’s IFA 2026 exhibition, including its product launches and media programme, will be announced closer to the show, which takes place in Berlin from 4-8 September.
