Sharp has introduced new audio products under the new Sharp Q sub-brand.

Leading the line-up are two soundbars – the HT-SBW53121 (3.1.2 ch.) and HT-SBW55121 (5.1.2 ch.) both with impressive specifications. And when paired with the new optional Sharp HT-SPR52021 (2.0.2 ch) wireless rear surround speakers, any room is transformed into a movie theatre with 3D full-surround up to 7.1.4 channels and 850W of power.

The new Q soundbars are being shown this week at IFA Berlin where Sharp’s stand theme is a “Simply Better Life”; it says it is making the latest 3D surround sound technologies (such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X) accessible to more consumers.

IFA Sharp New Soundbar Black The 3.1.2 ch. model has a punchy 550W total power output whilst the 5.1.2 ch. model boasts 650W – and that’s before the optional 200W rear surround speakers are added to the setup! The 2.0.2 ch. rear surround speakers (sold separately) connect wirelessly. Included with the soundbar is a powerful wireless subwoofer which provides visceral bass that you can feel – completing the “Cinema at Home” experience.

Available from January, the new Q soundbars are designed to complement Sharp Q TVs (FQ series) with optional raised feet that slide neatly over the TVs’ centre stand for a sleek aesthetic. The soundbars – available in Carbon Black (with Aegean Blue) and Smoke Grey (with Satin Silver) – also come with options for low feet and wall brackets to offer flexible placement and universal connectivity options.

IFA Sharp New Party SpeakerAlso being launched at IFA is the new party speaker, Sharp XParty Sing PS-931, updating the brand’s best-selling predecessor (the PS-929), equipped with two 6.5-inch drivers and two two-inch tweeters which deliver up to 180 Watts of power.

The 2.0 channel stereo system impresses with a spatial sound experience that listeners can customise through a super bass function and equaliser presets, while users can connect to the speaker wirelessly from a smartphone or tablet.

It’s also IPX4 “splashproof” water resistant and runs on a new lightweight lithium-ion battery with up to 13 hours of playtime, and can be fully charged in only three hours thanks to the new quick charge function. And, as the name suggests, the XParty Sing PS-931 also includes a microphone for karaoke sing-alongs and there’s a strobe light to add to the atmosphere!

IFA Sharp New Portable SpeakerMeanwhile, another portable device also being launched is Sharp’s DR-P520 “Osaka” Pocket Radio with new BestTune technology that combines FM, DAB and DAB+ stations and there’s even a SlideShow function to display pictures and additional info on the two-inch colour display.

Music can be listened to via the integrated speaker or over headphones and there’s also a dual alarm clock. The DR-P520 Pocket Radio is powered by a USB-C connection or the integrated lithium-ion battery.
