Forbes’s Kevin Herring named as new CEO

Stuart and Malcolm Forbes have announced the promotion of Kevin Herring to CEO of F. Donald Forbes & Co.

Established in 1926, the consumer side of the business trades as Forbes Rentals and the commercial arm trades as Forbes Professional. The business delivers laundry, kitchen and electrical appliances, TV and AV solutions to a wide range of sectors across the UK.

Mr Herring joined Forbes in 1988 and was made a director in 2004. A board member at Retra for many years, he has an in-depth understanding of the industry, champions a service-led company mind set and has played an integral role in the growth of the business over the years.

Stuart Forbes said: “Promoting Kevin to this role was a natural progression as he brings both invaluable internal knowledge and exceptional external expertise to the table. For a number of years he has been a loyal, prominent member of our board of directors. Kevin has impressive business acumen and instinctive leadership skills, and we are hugely excited about driving the business forwards with him as our CEO.”

Forbes is a long-established family company with an expansive nationwide infrastructure and a strong client-focus in all areas of their service delivery. Their business strategy has enabled exponential organic growth over the years, whilst acquisitions of other companies or rental accounts continue to be intrinsic to their on-going vision. Mr Herring’s new appointment has come at an opportune time for the rental market where there is huge potential to harness from Generation Rent.

Mr Herring added: “I am both thrilled and honoured to be appointed CEO of Forbes and I look forward to building upon the incredible achievements of the past 93 years. We have extremely strong foundations, dedicated staff and exciting plans to take with us into the next chapter of Forbes’ story.”
