Meridian Audio has unveiled its 818V3 Reference Audio Core, the latest version of its “ultimate” home audio hub.
The amplifier features triple FIFO buffering, DSP upsampling and apodising filters, as well as a new master oscillator with 40 per cent lower jitter for improved audio performance. It includes single-ended pre-amplifier outputs to allow connections with other electronics.
A key addition to the 818V3 is its new analogue output card, which features an upgraded circuit with filtering that broadens the bandwidth and is said to maximise the potential of high-resolution music. It also supports decoding of MQA sources for ‘studio-quality’ replay, and its new chip also brings lip-sync control and DSD (DoP) playback.
Priced at £8,000, it is available in a standard black, but a bespoke colour upgrade is available for a cost of £500.
