Smeg UK has appointed two new regional sales managers for the independent retail channel.

Keith Hayes (pictured right) will be responsible for the North-West and West Midlands, while Daniel Heath (pictured left) for the North-East, Yorkshire and East Midlands.

Both appointments come as a result of restructuring within the Smeg sales team and the promotion of Richie Bleasdale and Georgette Hurdiss into national account roles. Both Mr Hayes and Mr Heath will report to recently promoted Gareth Blenkinsop, head of retail – North.

With more than 20 years’ experience in a variety of regional, national and key account management roles, Mr Hayes joins from Glen Dimplex Home Appliances. Prior to this, he worked for a number of years at Armour Home Electronics and the Guardian Media Group.

Mr Heath has spent over 10 years in consumer electronics and has previously worked at appliances distributor Portway and as areas sales manager at Samsung. He was also heavily involved in training and field sales roles for Samsung and Sony.

Smeg sales director Paul Barker said: “We are delighted to welcome Keith and Daniel to the company, bringing a wealth of experience, existing relationships and skills to the team. I am confident that their knowledge, professionalism and dedication will help the company further develop our business across the north of England.

“Keith and Daniel have joined Smeg at such an exciting time, with a huge range of new products on offer and strong growth and investment planned to further strengthen Smeg’s position in the market. We wish them both all the very best in their new roles.”
