Smeg has announced the launch of its new premium range of home appliances called Dolce Stil Novo.
Available from September, the Italian manufacturer said the line-up is its most elegant and technically advanced collection of appliances.
The Dolce Stil Novo collection, which translates from Italian as ‘sweet new style’, features built-in ovens, hobs, under counter and built-in wine coolers, compact microwaves, steam ovens, coffee machines and 150mm warming drawers.
All the products are said to feature “cutting-edge” technology, such as touchscreen controls and automatically retractable handles.
The premium titanium pan stands were hand-picked by Smeg’s chief executive Vittorio Bertazzoni and include casts of leaves, butterflies, fruit and birds, reflecting his love of the outdoors.
The polished, premium stainless steel hobs also feature flat blade gas burners, which, says Smeg, will deliver a continuous ring of vertical flame upwards, to guarantee maximum heat transfer, reduce heat dispersion and increase efficiency by 20 per cent.
Smeg has also revealed it will be adding a 450mm rapid freezing drawer to the range at a later date.
With Dolce Stil Novo, the company will be targeting high-end, technologically advanced, contemporary kitchens and the range will be available from selected premium Smeg built-in stockists.
Said Smeg UK product manager Lucy King: “Dolce Stil Novo has been years in development, following the success of our Classic, Linea and Victoria collections, which are now firmly established.
“We think very carefully before introducing a new product line and we’re incredibly proud of Dolce Stil Novo, which really brings home our Italian heritage. Smeg is a family-run company with a love of food at the very heart of all we do – and having exceptional appliances to cook that food is paramount.
“When creating the collection, we carefully considered the requirements of modern day home chefs. Many are experimenting with new ways of cooking to create professional-style results at home, hence why we have introduced sous vide cooking for the first time.
“The development of this collection has really been to drive home the message of what Smeg is all about – family, food and our Italian heritage.”
