Dixons Carphone boss Sebastian James has held talks about taking over as the head of commercial broadcaster ITV, according to a report on Sky News.
Mr James, who is the chief executive of the electrical retail chain, was approached about taking over from ITV CEO Adam Crozier, who stepped down from the role earlier this year.
Sky News said it was unclear whether Mr James remained in contention to run ITV.
According to a report in The Guardian, Dame Carolyn McCall, the chief executive of EasyJet, is the leading candidate to replace Mr Crozier. ITV is expected to make an announcement about his successor this week.
Sky News said that ITV and Dixons Carphone had both declined to comment.
