Otone names its new managing director

UK-based electronics manufacturer Otone Audio has appointed Stephen Hoare as its new managing director.

Otone’s former managing director Gareth Thomas leaves the company after four-and-a-half years to pursue a new career path. He and Mr Hoare developed a close working relationship during their four years together at Belkin.

Mr Hoare brings with him over 25 years’ experience in marketing, sales and product management within the consumer electronics industry. He previously held senior roles at mobile computing accessories company Kensington and consumer electronics manufacturer Belkin.

Of his appointment, Mr Hoare said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Otone’s journey and I’m looking forward to using my experience to help support and grow the team, as well as introduce outstanding new products to the market”.

“Following a successful 12 months with the launch of Wi-Fi Direct multi-room speaker, BluWall Direct, Otone has not only positioned itself as a market leader in design and quality, but also in cutting-edge technology. I’m very much looking to retain this momentum in 2016 and build upon the great success Otone has achieved with its range of stylish, affordable products for the masses.”

Mr Thomas said: “We have spent a considerable amount of time selecting the right person for Otone and with Stephen we’re certain we’ve found someone who understands the brand’s vision and is passionate about supporting growth and market penetration with both the national and independent retailers in 2016.”

Otone plans to expand on its current portfolio of 15 products throughout 2016.
