New European senior vice president for Sound United

Sound United, the parent company of Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio and Boston Acoustics, has appointed Bart Muller as senior vice president of commercial operations in Europe.

Mr Muller (pictured) will report to Kevin Duffy, CEO of Sound United. He replaces Terry O’Connell, who retires on September 30, and will be responsible for the company’s core portfolio of products, including AV receivers, hi-fi and mini systems, as well as driving growth in new categories, such as loudspeakers and soundbars.

Mr Muller will leverage the company’s key regional offices in Germany, the Netherlands, France and the UK to drive sales, but will also look at the viability of adding more offices throughout Europe.

He joins Sound United from Stanley Black & Decker, where he was president of emerging markets, including Russia, India, Turkey, the Middle East and Africa. He was based in Dubai.

Mr Muller spent the first 15 years of his career working in audio, including Marantz, where he was general manager in the 1990s.
