LG to enter the European built-in market

Korean brand LG will launch its first built-in kitchen appliances for the European market later this year.

The Signature Kitchen Suite range of ‘ultra-premium’ smart products, which is set to debut at the IFA trade show in Berlin (August 31 to September 5), has been designed specifically to meet the needs of European consumers. It will be on show in its own dedicated outdoor exhibition in the Sommergarten at Messe Berlin, IFA.

LG said the Signature Kitchen Suite will initially launch in Italy this year, with other key European markets to follow.

For the launch of the appliances, LG has collaborated with Italian kitchen design experts Valcucine and Arclinea.

The range, which includes an oven, induction cooktop, refrigerator, dishwasher, wine cellar and espresso machine, will be available in a selection of designs, including ‘elegant panel finishing’, ‘minimised luxury’, ‘sleek stainless steel’ and a ‘natural, contemporary theme’.

The oven will feature steam and convection cooking, ProHeat technology to distribute heat, and Speed Clean for fast and easy cleaning of splatters and baked-on food residue.

LG said the Signature Kitchen Suite appliances are equipped with wi-fi connectivity and are fully compatible with AI platforms such as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

The smart connectivity will allow users to search for recipes remotely using apps such as Innit, SideChef and Drop, send recipes directly to the oven and preheat it, as well as set the right cooking mode and monitor all operations in the kitchen.

Said Song Dae-hyun, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance and Air Solution Company: “We are excited about bringing our Signature Kitchen Suite of premium home appliances to the very discerning European market this year.

“We’re extremely confident that the combination of our proven smart technology and our high-end appliances will give established European brands in this category a run for their money.”
