Roberts Radio chairman Leslie Burrage is to retire on March 31, after a 23-year career with the business.
Known affectionately as ‘Sir Les’ by his peers, Mr Burrage (pictured) has spent 58 years working in the consumer electronics industry.
His career at Roberts Radio commenced when Glen Dimplex acquired the business in 1994 and, during his time at the helm, Mr Burrage has overseen a number of key launches – including the first portable DAB radio, as well as sound systems and internet radios.
Commenting on Mr Burrage’s retirement, Fergal Naughton, chief executive of Glen Dimplex, said: “I wish Leslie every success in his retirement. I’d like to thank him for his commitment and the significant contribution he has made to Roberts Radio and Glen Dimplex.”
Mr Burrage will act as an adviser to the chief executive of Roberts Radio, Owen Watters, in order to ensure a smooth handover.
