Jessops opens new Merry Hill shop

Jessops has opened a new store at intu Merry Hill shopping centre in Dudley.

This marks the 52nd shop for the retailer and was officially opened by the Mayor of Dudley, councillor Mohammed Hanif, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony also attended by Jessops managing director Neil Old.

At the new store, shoppers will be able to get hands-on with the latest equipment and can receive specialist advice from a team of expert photographers.

Mr Old commented: “Our 12-strong intu Merry Hill team has been trained to the highest standard by the award-winning Jessops Training Academy. When it comes to photography, we are confident that there is no other retailer that can offer our level of service, impartial advice, and passion for photography.”

Customers at Merry Hill will also be able to enrol on one of its Academy Courses to further their photography skills. Other services on offer include rental, trade-ins, sensor cleaning and an on-site lab for prints in an hour or instantly via the kiosks.

Commenting on the company’s success, Mr Old said: “Our success is a multichannel strategy, within which physical stores plays a key role. It is all about giving shoppers choice on how to buy: whether that’s in-store, where they can get hands-on experience, by phone, online 24/7, or via the collect-at-store service. And this all comes with the reassurance that prices will be the same across all channels and benchmarked against the leading UK retailers with our ‘Price Match Promise’.

“The expertise of our staff also plays a big part in our success. Last year more than 12,000 customers enrolled on our nationwide Academy Training courses to build on their photography skills.”
