Hoover Candy has been named Sirius manufacturer of the year for the fifth time in seven years.
Judged and voted for by Sirius members, brands are scored on a range of criteria, including outstanding sales team support, service, products, innovation, quality and head office support.
Hoover Candy, a member of the Sirius buying group for more than 15 years, came out on top.
The awards ceremony was held at the buying group’s annual trade show at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel and Country Club in Warwickshire last week, which began with the group’s annual general meeting.
Hoover also won the award for stand of the year.
Steve Macdonald, business director (freestanding appliances) at Hoover Candy UK, said: “Winning this award for a fifth time is truly a testament to all the hard work that everyone from across the whole group has put into delivering gold-standard service day in, day out.
“Caring for our customers and in turn, their customers, has always been a priority, which is why winning the accolade this year is so important to us. It’s helped ensure that we’re on the right track, showing the right level of care to our trusted trade partners.
“The elements of style, care and innovation in our product range has really shone in the last 12 months, but it’s recognition like this that means we’re showing these important factors in other areas, such as service and support.
“We’re looking forward to the year ahead as we further establish our position as the leader in connected appliances, following the extension of our smart product offering with a number of exciting new lines.”
At this year’s event, Sirius welcomed new approved suppliers Rangemaster, CDA and RKW.
“Our trade show provides the electrical retail industry with the invaluable opportunity to present to a host of leading electrical retail members with similar business interest and goals,” said Sirius buying group commercial director Steve Jones.
“If we continue to grow at the rate we are, then we will retain our high calibre of retail opportunities to present to our members: all the while supporting our approved supplier network and driving more business to members’ retail outlets.”
