He will be responsible for maximising marketing and sales opportunities for Hoover SDAs and overseeing the business across retail channels for the division.
Mr Watkins brings more than 20 years’ experience in the consumer electronics and IT industry. He previously worked for Sony for eight years as general manager, and spent seven years at Acer as UK managing director.
Mr Watkins said: “Hoover has an undeniably positive reputation and presence within the SDA sector. Since joining the company, I’ve also found a fantastic team spirit which helps us deliver amazing experiences for our consumers and great results for the business.
“This year, Hoover candy celebrates 110 years in business and has an unrivalled reputation, especially when it comes to vacuum cleaners, but for me, it’s important that we don’t rest on our laurels. That’s why Hoover Candy’s substantial investment in research and development is crucial, as it allows us to continually provide innovative appliance solutions that exceed customer expectations. This is in addition to leveraging brand strength to showcase the best of the best to the industry and its customers.”
