Haier has been ranked the number one brand in domestic appliances for the ninth consecutive year.
Figures from market researcher Euromonitor showed that Haier accounted for 14.2 per cent of the global market in 2017, an increase of 4.55 per cent on 2016.
Currently, one-in-five fridges sold is a Haier, according to Euromonitor, with the company achieving a 21.2 per cent share of the global refrigeration market.
For almost a decade, the brand has seen rising retail sales growth of its refrigeration appliances, home-laundry appliances, electric wine coolers, putting it “significantly” ahead of its competitors, Haier claimed.
Haier was also the only Chinese appliances manufacturer to be included in the top 50 among the World’s 500 Most Influential brands 2017 list, compiled by the World Brand Lab, an international organisation for brand consulting, research and assessment.
Haier Europe chief executive Yannick Fierling (pictured) said: “Such recognition is proof once more of the group’s capacity to find its place in a fast-changing world. The times are favourable to reinforce the strong partnership between Europe and China, a collaboration that comes with a rich past and a promising future. We are honoured to see more consumers choosing Haier products to equip their households, particularly in Europe, where quality is paramount. This is thanks to our sophisticated premium offer.”
