GameFly added to LG smart TVs

LG Electronics has announced a partnership with console game subscription service GameFly.

GameFly Streaming will be added to LG’s webOS-enabled smart TVs, which will allow users to download the GameFly Streaming app.

The app will be available on LG’s webOS 2.0 and 3.0 Smart TVs, which will be added as part of a software update in April.

“We are excited to add yet more value to LG webOS smart TVs by partnering with GameFly to offer the most exciting video games,” said LG Home Entertainment president and chief executive Brian Kwon. “LG smart TV owners around the world will be able to play console quality video games wherever and whenever they want directly on their TVs. We will work closely with GameFly to deliver exciting gaming content to our global customer base, and look forward to partnering with other dynamic content providers to bring a wider range of media to our smart TV line-up.”

The GameFly Streaming app will launch on LG smart TVs in more than 20 European countries and the US in late April. It will be available shortly afterwards in multiple countries worldwide.
