Dixons Carphone group financial director Humphrey Singer has announced his decision to step down from his role to take up the position of chief financial officer at Marks and Spencer Group.
Mr Humphrey (pictured) will continue in his current role at Dixons Carphone until July.
The board has already commenced a search for a suitable replacement.
Chairman Ian Livingston said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Humphrey for his very significant contribution to both Dixons and Dixons Carphone. He has been an important part of the company’s achievements over the past 11 years. We wish him all the best in his new role.“
Chief executive Sebastian James commented: “Humphrey has played a vital role in the Dixons Carphone transformation. His deep understanding of retail, hard work, absolute integrity and good humour has made working with him both a pleasure and a privilege. He leaves the business in a healthy financial position and with leading market positions in every country in which it operates. On behalf of everyone at Dixons Carphone, I thank Humphrey most sincerely for his dedication and commitment to the business and wish him every success in his exciting new role.”
Mr Singer added: “I want to thank all the team at Dixons Carphone. It has been a privilege to work with so many passionate and talented people.
