Changes at the top for Glen Dimplex

The Glen Dimplex Group has announced major changes to its senior management team.

Sean O’Driscoll (pictured) has been appointed as president of the group and Fergal Naughton will take over from him in the role of chief executive.

Michael Maher becomes chief operating officer, while Martin McCourt, formerly of Dyson, joins as non-executive chairman and Neil Naughton will be deputy chairman.

Martin Naughton has stepped down as president and from the executive board, but will remain as chairman of the company’s newly-formed shareholder supervisory board.

Andy Griffiths, former president of Samsung UK and Ireland, has been appointed as a member of the shareholder supervisory board, which will provide clear, strategic counsel and direction to the executive board.

Said Martin Naughton: “I believe it is necessary to change the structure of the group in order to drive its long-term profitable growth and success, but let us work together to make our companies even more exceptional. I am also delighted that Martin McCourt has agreed to join us as non-executive chairman. He steered Dyson to international success for 15 years.”

He added: “Finally, I am stepping down from the executive board, but I may visit from time to time.”

The Glen Dimplex Group’s portfolio of brands includes Morphy Richards, Roberts Radio, Britannia, Belling, Stoves, New World, Lec, Dimplex and Valor.
