AWE launches new smart home training courses

Custom installation distributor AWE has announced two new training courses through its Smart Home Academy.

The courses –AWE Smart Home Academy: Foundation in Smart Home Control with URC MX HomePro, and AWE Smart Home Academy: Designing an Immersive Audio Home Cinema – reflect the latest developments in the smart-home market, it said.

The Foundation in Smart Home Control course is a one-day session and focuses on how to specify and program a reliable control system. It has been designed for those interested in becoming proficient in URC’s MX HomePro range.

Attendees will gain experience in building macros, using logic and variables, understanding network requirements and integrating third-party control products, including QMotion, Philips Hue and Heos by Denon.

The next available training date for this course is Wednesday, April 5.

The Designing an Immersive Audio Home Cinema course looks at the tools required to design an outstanding home cinema, with a focus on Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and other technologies, cinema speaker placement, and various projector technologies.

It also looks at how to select the best projector, specifying the correct AV receiver and the differences between projector screens, fabrics and systems. The next available course date is May 3.

The AWE Smart Home Academy also offers five expert training courses, including The Foundation Workshop, Whole House Integration with URC Total Control, HDMI & 4K Distribution with HDanywhere, Wirefree Blind Course with QMotion and HDBaseT Expert Installer.

The distributor also lends its facility to home technology industry trade body Cedia as an official base for its education programme.
