Dave Smith, of Rayners in Grimsby, has today won the third regional final in the Samsung Elite competition.

The Samsung Elite competition, in association with ERT, aims to find the Samsung Sales Person of the Year.

The third of three regional finals was held today (Wednesday) in Leeds.

Mr Smith impressed the panel of judges, which included ERT’s editor Simon King, with his demonstration and explanation of the Korean maker’s LED TVs.

As a winning finalist, Mr Smith has won a Samsung 40in LED TV (UE40B7020) and is now in the running to win the top prize. Four runners-up at each regional final will each win a Samsung Blu-ray player (BD-P4600).

The panel of judges will now deliberate and the overall Samsung Sales Person of the Year will be announced tomorrow.

The overall winner will be one of the three regional winners. So that’s between Mr Smith, Bryan Brett of Stellison in Colchester; and Matthew Pearce, of Bennetts Electrical in Ipswich.

The overall winner will scoop an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.

The four runners-up at the Leeds regional final were (in alphabetical order): Brett Ellis, Audiovision, Sheffield; Chris Hodkin, Pennine Plus, Keighley; Chris Park, Hi-Fi Corner, Edinburgh; and Raymond Smart, Tec 7 in Glasgow.
