| Lord Carter confident of digital future | |
| 02 July 2009 Digital Britain report architect Lord Carter has praised consumer electronics manufacturers’ association Intellect for being a “very significant force for policy good”. However, speaking at today’s Intellect Consumer Electronics Conference, in London, Lord Carter said: “The technology industries punch below their weight in making their voice heard as a category. “I know there is a proposal from Intellect to bring a user group together to drive forward some of the Digital Britain recommendations, which I think is very welcome, and I think that would be an important thing to keep putting effort behind.” Speaking about the Digital Britain Report, Lord Carter said: “My judgment, for what it’s worth, is that over and above the sort of normal political froth that passes for quality political discussion in our society, 95 per cent of what we are recommending will happen regardless of who is in goverment and I think that certainty is important.” | |
