DSG international - parent company of Currys, Currys.digital, PC World and Dixons – has now officially changed its name to Dixons Retail plc.

Ninety-eight per cent of the retail group’s shareholders approved of the name change at its annual general meeting today.

The former DSGi revealed in June, when it published its full year results,  that it wanted to change its name.

However, ERT currently knows of no plans to bring back Dixons-branded stores to UK high streets.

The original Dixons high-street outlets were rebranded Currys.digital when Dixons Stores Group, as it then was, changed its name to DSG international in 2005.
