Samsung SOTY winners large 2011

THE Samsung Sales Person of the Year 2011 competition, in association with ERT, came to an exciting conclusion at Birmingham’s Metropolitan College recently.

Now in its third year, the competition saw 10 finalists battle it out in front of a panel of judges to win top-of-the range Samsung products and the chance to take part in a Jaguar driving experience at the Oulton Park circuit, in Cheshire.

Finalists had to demonstrate their product knowledge and sales skills to the judging panel, which was made up of Samsung UK staff – sales director, Rob King, head of training, Rob Smith, AV product manager, Chris Moseley, regional sales manager, Peter Unsworth – and ERT editor, Sean Hannam.

The overall winner was Kevin Sherlock of Brittain and Hobbs in Sheerness, Kent.

In second place was Ronan Smyth of Hardys of Kilkeel, Kilkeel, Co. Down, Northern Ireland and third place went to Barry Anderson of Booth For Better Service, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

All three took part in a Jaguar driving experience.

As well as being crowned Samsung Sales Person of the Year 2011, Mr Sherlock also received a 46in D8000 Smart TV, a Galaxy S wi-fi device and a BD-D6900 Blu-ray player.

Mr Smyth and Mr Anderson were the recipients of a 46in D7000 Series Smart TV, a Galaxy S wi-fi device and a BD-D6900 Blu-ray player.

Said Samsung UK’s sales director, Rob King: “Choosing the Samsung Sales Person of the Year 2011 from such an exceptional group was always going to be a difficult task. All our finalists demonstrated a high level of product knowledge, backed up with excellent sales skills. Finally, however, the judges agreed that Kevin’s confident and engaging style and his clear passion for demonstrating the latest technology made him a clear winner.”
