Samsung helps out riot victims | Back |

Samsung is giving free products to Haringey Council to distribute among local families that lost possessions in the recent riots.
The company is providing the London borough with 10 TVs [UE37D550], 15 refrigerators [RL56GRGIH1/XEU], five microwaves/ cookers [ME89F-1S/XEU] and 10 washing machines [WF0702WKE/XEU].
“We are pleased to be supporting the fantastic work Haringey Council is undertaking and hope that our products will begin to help restoring the lives of families affected by the riots,” said Samsung UK and Ireland managing director David Song.
Haringey Council Leader, Cllr Claire Kober, said: “The council has been overwhelmed by the generosity of individuals and organisations wanting to help those who suffered during the riots. These donations from Samsung are fantastic and will really help the families to get settled into their new homes.
“Donations like this can ease some of the stress of having to replace everything while dealing with reams of paperwork and coping with personal trauma. It is heartening to see such support for our community and for the process of rebuilding the lives and livelihoods of the people in Tottenham.”
