More backing for YouView | Back |

The co-founder of video-on-demand service Blinkbox has already voiced his support (see yesterday’s story), now movies-on-demand website Find Any Film has added its backing.
The website, which is backed by the UK Film Council, said YouView was “the first major opportunity to be on a mainstream TV platform and reach out directly to millions of TV viewers”, according to a report on entertainment website Digital Spy.
“Technology has failed to catch-up with consumer entertainment habits and we've ended up with a fragmented market,” said Find Any Film director Martin Talks, who is also chief executive of its parent company Blue Barracuda.
“YouView is the first major opportunity for us to be on a TV platform and break down these barriers,” he said.
"We'd strongly urge Ofcom to look at the wider commercial benefits in its review [following complaints from rivals and advertisers] and not close the door on the first real chance that we've got of reaching the TV screen.”
