JVC has introduced two new PICSIO pocket cameras – the GC-WP10 and the GC-FM2.
These “All for Fun + Fun for All” models feature a 3in touch panel for easy playback using moving icon graphics for interactivity. Pressure sensitivity means users can operate it even wearing gloves – useful for those who enjoy winter sports.
The cameras offer high-quality Full HD video and, said the company, excellent low-light sensitivity and they are optimised for Eye-Fi cards for Wi-Fi connectivity.
In addition, the GC-WP10 is claimed to be not only waterproof but rugged and is supplied with an MP3 audio recorder.
The PICSIO CMOS image sensor captures jpeg stills at up to 5 megapixel native resolution without interpolation, said JVC. It also records up to 1920x1080p/25 fps.
Besides offering full HD video with image stabilisation, the cameras also have a 4x digital zoom and a offer a variety of shooting modes.
Videos are recorded in Mpeg-4 AVC/H.264 and stored as MP4 files.
LoiLoScope EX for Windows is preinstalled for fast editing and direct uploading to YouTube and Facebook, exporting to iTunes and more from any computer.
Both PICSIO pocket cameras work with iMovie on the Mac. They also offer the option to record video in iFrame, a format designed to simplify the process of editing and sharing video. iFrame works with compatible Mac and PC applications.
The PICSIO cameras come with an SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot for versatile storage. The GC-FM2, additionally, has a slide-out USB connector. Both models are charged through their USB connection so continued shooting is possible after transferring files. A USB cable is provided.
